If a child has a speech , language or communication difficulty they may struggle in nursery or school. The therapists work with babies and children who have eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties. They work with the people who spend the most time with the child. This may include parents, carers, family members, school staff and nursery staff. They are able to identify particular needs and then support the children accordingly, using a fun and creative approach in order to help them achieve their full potential. Speech and language therapy provides treatment, support and care for children and young people who have difficulties with communication, or with eating, drinking and swallowing.
