Refugee volunteer

Volunteering with Refugee Action puts you at the heart of our work. There are a range of ways you can help, from making refugees welcome in their new communities to helping us in our offices. Volunteers are involved in all our teams and in every service we run. You can help ensure they are treated fairly and live with dignity by volunteering. I find it rewarding to be able to show our clients that people do care.

This means the grassroots projects can spend less time organising and looking for volunteers and more time helping people affected by the continued crisis. The fantastic team of volunteers at Bristol Refugee Rights is fundamental to the work of the organisation, and without the energy and commitment of volunteers we simply could not deliver our services. The Coronavirus outbreak is of particular concern for the refugees we support at JRS UK, and many of our current volunteers who are elderly. As we adapt and move away from our face-to-face services, finding new ways to support our refugee friends safely, we will continue to need volunteer help. Indigo matches volunteers to grassroots organisations specifically helping the refugee and migrant community. We are working with our local schools, community health partners, local churches, and other nonprofit partners to provide information, services, and nutrition for our refugee neighbors. We are committed to continuing to pay all of our employees during this time to ensure they can provide for their families and others that depend on them.
